Not hairs but hair like feather filaments.

Consensus right now is that an animal the size of T-rex would overheat in a full cost of feathers; however, since its ancestors, closest relatives, and surviving relatives were feathered, it very likely had some kind of feathering somewhere, most likely very sparse, like elephant hair.
This is why I went with feather filament stubble. Never seen it before, and it looks cool!
